Steve Gibson is Delivering for PCC
Putting students first
The cost of education is staggering. Steve believes that education is a human right and has fought to make education more accessible for all.
Steve has worked to ensure that every student at PCC, regardless of their family income, the color of their skin, disability, (or immigration status) has the support they need to succeed.
Elevating the voice of faculty and staff as equal partners in leadership
As Trustee, Steve believes in faculty and staff equity and respectable working conditions for everyone.
Steve has delivered for classified staff to cultivate an environment where workers feel safe to speak to their managers, without fear of reprisals because they, too, are there to serve the students.
Encouraging the community’s stake in the college
Engaging the community is pivotal to Steve’s vision of uplifting and encouraging a path for education for all. He’s worked to expand course offerings at local high schools and work with the community to increase engagement across the region.
Expanding certificate programs & vocational education
Steve knows that PCC must expand non-credit adult education and more programs in skilled trades that provide training to support non-traditional, minority, and low-income students to develop job skills, find gainful employment or further other educational and personal goals.
Increasing accountability and transparency at the school
Understanding the value of transparency and importance of holding leadership accountable, Steve has always fought for re-establishing trust in the Board of Trustees.
Steve has worked across the board to push for accountability, transparency, and fairness at PCC.
